You may have noticed some signal flags among the tattoo designs and wondered, "What are they doing there?" There's a few reasons.
First off, they're bright and colourful! I do like colour. Maybe that's because I come from a place where fog and clouds abound and sunshine is kind of rare. Second, they speak. Each flag denotes a letter and/or a message. You can spell things out letter by letter or in combining them, display a specific message. Third, it's almost a secret code among sailors and mariners. There's only a few people outside of the maritime world who can read the signals at a glance. That make's them kind of cool.
I've put up a few signal designs using the flags. My personal fave is BRAVO ZULU (BZ) because its message is " Well Done", not as in "how do you like your steak?" but as in "Congratulations, you nailed it!" It's been the most successful signal design I put up; so, BZ!
Other ones I've designed include, MIKE UNIFORM MIKE, DELTA ALPHA DELTA, and WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT. I also put up a PAPA ROMEO INDIA DELTA ECHO.
